Award Season Round-Up // 7 ///

Welcome to Award Season Round-Up 2016. Award season is upon us and I will be covering the events, weekly, in the run up to the Oscars at the end of February. Tune in every Sunday at 1pm to see the what the week has to offer. This week was a quiet week with only one event. I have rounded up the best from that event.
Julianne Moore, laryngitis and all, took to the 2016 BAFTA Awards red carpet last Sunday. The Still Alice winner from the previous year donned a custom made Armani PrivĂ© halter neck black and white gown. She styled dainty Chopard jewels and black heels with the look. Lovely but not exciting.

Saoirse Ronan also went the simple route for the 2016 BAFTA Awards. The Irish actress and Brooklyn nominee chose a bespoke Burberry gown. The strapless black column dress was enriched with floral embellishment. A large Chopard necklace was styled with the look. Also not that exciting.

With a gothic make-up do, double nominee Alicia Vikander was also present on the BAFTA red carpet. The Swedish actress, naturally, opted for a custom made Louis Vuitton black leather gown with silver tinsel embroidery. Louis Vuitton’s custom gowns have much improved over the years and this is lovely, but guess what? It’s not exciting

Kate Winslet won a BAFTA on Sunday night. She also won on the red carpet. Form fitting black dress—revolutionary. However, her Antonio Berardi gown with an asymmetric bodice was lovely. She paired it questionably with a Jimmy Choo clutch. A rare win on the red carpet for Kate.
Fashion maven Cate Blanchett brought the glamour to the 2016 BAFTA Awards. The Australian actress and Carol nominee donned a Spring 2016 Alexander McQueen floral embellished bodice and ostrich plume skirt. Only Queen Cate could pull this off. She accessorised with Tiffany & Co. jewellery. An award season high from her.

Before jetting back to New York for the Boss Women show on Wednesday night, Rooney Mara took to the red carpet at the BAFTAs. The Carol nominee donned a Givenchy Haute Couture gown with frilly, shoulder-bearing sleeves. With holed detailing, this look is one of Rooney’s more exciting offerings.

Rebel Wilson toyed with masculine and feminine codes with her outfit at the BAFTAs. Before giving an epic preamble to the Best Supporting Actor award, the Australian actress posed for photographs on the red carpet. Her beaded blazer was paired with a rise and fall hemline skirt. Her hair and makeup looked lovely. One of my favourites of the night.

Nominee and presenter Dakota Johnson was flawless, as per usual, on the 2016 BAFTA Awards red carpet. Deciding upon a custom Christian Dior Haute Couture gown with red ruffles. The low-neck gown was styled simply with a few rings. Seeing Dakota on the red carpet is always a pleasure, this is a great look.
Taylor Swift had a great night at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. The singer picked up three prestigious awards on the night. She took home Album of the Year (first woman in history to win it twice), Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Music Video. She didn’t make history with her outfit, which was predictable and safe. Her Atelier Versace coral bandeau and hot pink skirt with a gaping split was styled with silver heels. Boring.

Supporting her boyfriend The Weeknd, Bella Hadid attended the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. The model chose an Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture gown with a plunging neckline and side cutouts. The shimmering gown was styled simply with black ankle strap heels and a serpent cuff.

The Weeknd rocked up to the Grammys, winning two awards, giving an exceptional performance and celebrating his birthday (two days early) with his friends and contemporaries. For the occasion he opted for a Givenchy tuxedo consisting of a two piece suit, black shirt and bow tie.

Gucci Timepieces and Jewellery ambassador, Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine attended the 58th Annual Grammy Awards last Sunday night also. Looking as beautiful as ever, Florence donned a custom made gown by Alessandro Michele. Her bubblegum pink chiffon gown was embroidered with solar details—stars, a crescent moon. One of the best looks of the night.

Ellie Goulding looked terrific at the Grammys. The British singer opted for a custom Stella McCartney blush pink gown. It was all business in the front but when she turned around to reveal the back, intrigue flared. The silver chain detailing was redemptive. This look would be dull without it.
